A job twenty miles away is not a job if there is no way to get there. The CDC supports the projects that close the gap between where people live and where the work, the school, and the services are.

What we fund

  • Access projects. Getting residents to jobs, schools, and services.
  • Community infrastructure. Roads, sidewalks, lighting, and connections that make a neighborhood usable.
  • Mobility partnerships. Programs run with transit agencies and local governments.
  • Port and logistics readiness. Early design and infrastructure work that prepares a site.
  • Predevelopment and planning. The studies and design work that make a project fundable.

  • A transit connection between a residential area and a new employment center.
  • Sidewalk, lighting, and streetscape work along a corridor serving a school.
  • Early design and infrastructure readiness at a regional port.

These are examples of the kinds of projects the CDC can support. They are not specific commitments of funding, and each project remains subject to eligibility, due diligence, and approval.
