Training for the jobs being created right now.
The region is adding jobs faster than it is adding trained people to fill them. The CDC invests in the training partnerships that connect residents to those jobs, built with the community colleges, workforce boards, and employers already doing the work.
What we fund
- Training programs. Skills pipelines aligned to jobs employers are hiring for now.
- Certification pathways. Credentials that carry across employers and across the region.
- Equipment and facilities. The lab, the simulator, or the shop a program needs to run.
- Wraparound support. Transportation, childcare, and tools, the practical barriers that end a training program early.
- Employer partnerships. Programs designed with the companies that will do the hiring.

- An operations and logistics certification program at a community college.
- A lineworker training partnership serving a rural region.
- Equipment for a construction trades program tied to a named employer.
These are examples of the kinds of projects the CDC can support. They are not specific commitments of funding, and each project remains subject to eligibility, due diligence, and approval.
